One can no longer view the paintings, Fotograffiti, which is the reason you have had no comments, I presume.

Put it back up. I want to see. I was not home and super busy. Don't always get a chance to pop in.

Fotographiti, I do understand what you are feeling. There are times I have posted without  a reponse. I had similar feelings as you. Over time I have learned that some members respond mostly to mediums they are familiar with. Sometimes the responses are fewer than others. Please don't be discouraged. Post again.

Keep in mind most of those views are from a search engine, not an actual person.  When new posts go up, google bot, bing bot, and many other search engines come in and "view" the post in order to add it to their database for search results.  Also, people may do a quick view on their mobile device, then respond later on their computer.  That is even more likely on days like yesterday, which was a holiday for the USA.

Look at any post and compare the number of views to the number of posts and that will give you a better idea of what to expect for number of views vs number of posts.  Also, on a forum you need to give people time to respond than you would on something like Facebook.  I know it took me a few days to respond to the last post someone sent me directly, and that is normal to happen on forums.  I was camping for the holiday, and did not have as much computer time.

I sure hope you reconsider.  There are a lot of nice people here.

Hi Foto,

I understand your problem. We expect more replies from the paint basket forum since it is almost family like. Some members comment more often and the some members donĀ“t comment at all, some do it off and on. But, I think Mysti has analysed the problem quite well.

I think in general, very active members who comment a lot (7 - 8 comments/day) get more feedback to their paintings than less active members. One should also be aware that some people are more interested to follow the paintings of their favorite artists.

Personally, I like to get some good crits which help me to improve as an artist rather than courtesy comments which just put you in a good mood. I think in this forum everybody is very polite in their answers but you do see a graduation in the comments. "fantastic" or "exceptional" is of course a different grade than "nice" or "keep going".

I personally read and view paintings on my mobile which is not convenient to type and comment elaborately. I often stick to short sentences.

Now, you have made me curious to see your painting :smiley6600:

Post your paintings. Then I can see and comment.

Your post must have gone up while I was away for three weeks.  (June 21 to July 11)  I had very limited Internet to check PB during that time.

Please give us another chance.  Part of the problem may be that you posted under the topic "MOTIVATION."   Many PBers only view the topics in their favorite medium.

I have my OPERA browser set to the page that shows the last 100 messages, no matter what medium.

As I said, please give us another chance.
