:heeha: Absolutely Gita! If my next attempt at the succulent doesn't go well, I'm going to try the pastels over the top!  :fight:

Gita, I love your dove  :) And I am so pleased that you have added pastels to your skill set. I see that you and Val and others have discovered how expensive pastels are .... My pastels are by far the most valuable things in my house!!  :2funny: :2funny: Having spent far too much on them in recent years. But you can never have too many pastels .... The set I really want will cost me around £1500.00, and I am far away from being able to justify the expense to myself! The good thing though is that the sticks will last for hundreds of paintings, so the cost can be spread over time. A good started set is Inscribe pastels, about £ 15.00 for a set of 64. These are the ones I started out with and still have them. They are reasonably soft, bit a bit harder than my favourite Unison ones. They mix well with other makes and blend nicely as well.

Cheers

Yes, I had heard about the inscribe.... couldn't find any here. Satisfied for now with the Staedtler and the Mungyo, but really could use a wider array of colours. I find myself cruising through the supply houses on the net and drooling over some of the big sets. Trying to get up to the US to visit friends this summer.....that would mean access to these places... AND DELIVERY!!!  :heeha:   Going to need a bigger suitcase....again  ::)
Cheers, Val
