fantastic, your berries really do pop now. You have learned a very valuable lesson with this drawing - don't be scared of contrast :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

Thank you, Nolan!  I will keep that in mind while drawing my rocky planes.

Hi Mysti,

I'm just catching up on all your progress. You are doing some awesome drawings and I'm loving learning about the IPAD pro with the adobe sketch program. I hadn't heard of it and it sounds pretty cool. I might add that to my Christmas list... we'll see  ;)

Re your pencil organising, mine is quite similar and I'm loving it. I only have one blade so haven't encountered that particular storage issue.

Oooh, Mez.  I love your organizer!  Thank you so much for posting the picture.   :thankyou:  You have a great space for your erasers too.

I finally took mea's advice and turned my pencils around and found that the leads are protected just fine.  I was afraid they would break.  Now I can see my pencil sizes and it works well for portability.  I bring it to work with me and spend a few minutes every day drawing at the end of lunch.

I love rocks, so I really enjoyed this lesson.  I have had more iPad time than time with my sketchbook and it shows.  I am not satisfied with either, but I am sure with practice it will get better.  Here are my rocks.  Now on to Nolan's next lesson!

Great rocks! Your digital has certainly got the nice dark tones.

Nice work, Mysti.

I assume the bottom ones are digital.. Oh, so smooth.

Nicely done Mysti, you need more darks in your hand drawn version. Also, don't be afraid to change the angle of your strokes where you see a different angle in the stone face. It all helps to accentuate the planes.  O0

:thankyou: Val!  I will do more darks on the sketchbook version.  It actually looks darker in person, but it could use a lot of fill in.  On the digital, some things I wasn't happy with got a lot better when I darkened it up.

great rocks. I can see you understand the concept of the planes perfectly.

You can however still add more contrast to the pencil drawing. The digital drawing is fine so use that as your comparison O0

:thankyou: Jess!  I am loooking forward to seeing your next drawing!  No rush, though.  Just enjoy the process.  I find I am learning more every time I eat a chance to draw.

:thankyou: Nolan!  I will do some more work on the sketch.   :painting:

Updated sketch.  I added in the missing rock in the bottom left corner.  I also made up some of my own details and shapes, with lots of cracks added.

Old sketch for reference.
