I took my sketch of the abbey and redrew it on WC paper. I was getting frustrated with the brickwork until I remembered I could remove WC paint, the result was very satisfactory!

Nice work, Brian.  Looks like a cool place to visit.

Stay safe in London.

👌🏻You got the stonework done well, Brian.

😉 Did you see the ghost monk there, too?

The brickwork didn't look like it was going to work out and I glazed some grays over it. It all looked kind of flat and I caught myself wishing I could take some of the paint back off. Then I remembered Dennis doing just that in a recent still life class and tried it to put in some lighter bricks. Wham! It just jumped out of the picture!

Thanks everyone. We're off to Spain tomorrow, looking forward to drawing and painting some of the Moorish architecture :) :) :)

We honestly don't know Val. We get the Ferry to Santander tomorrow evening.
We travel without plans now. If we drift to a place we like we stay, if not we'll leave. Often we'll meet somebody who says "Go there its wonderful" and off we go.
We have a few places in the back of our minds. We want to go to Portugal too. Strangely I speak some Portuguese but I've never been there!
We may stay for a month, we have friends in France we'd like to see and a week in the French Alps at a timeshare resort, then maybe Switzerland and Austria, we think Vienna might be nice. If you still have our travel Blog address you can follow along!
there's a link to an interactive map on the right of the page now.

Indeed I did save it Brian, the net doesn't always allow me to load some sites, but I'll be watching. This sounds like a right adventure!  :heeha:   I'm so excited about you going.....I forgot the name of the place I was going to recommend!     It begins with And.... I'll look it up again and add it. Oi what a putz!   :2funny:
Cheers, Val
