Sharon,

I agree - simplify!  Maybe a cream or ecru color for tablecloth??

Ok Val - here's the list - how many did you get right?
Potatoes
Nicoise olives
Hearts of palm
Grilled baby artichokes
French green beans
Grape tomatoes
Cauliflower
Rainbow of carrots
Medium boiled eggs
Grilled Tuna (dressed with nicoise vinaigrette)
Almonds
Asparagus (ends shaved so the ends are white and gradually gets green toward the tip)
More tomatoes and olives

I missed the hearts of palm and thought the almonds were fava beans!

Thanks about the donut frame - I love her nail polish, too!

And thanks Mea - cream is good. What's ecru? Must look that one up!
Cheers,
Sharon

Sharon - Ecru is just a bit more tan than cream.

:heeha: I did better than I thought! It was the grilled tuna that tripped me up.  :faint: In all honesty, I didn't know what kind of olives they were, and I just had carrots, not rainbow carrots.  What do you say....deduct 1/2 point for each of those and 1 for the tuna?  ;)    ;D   I think my vegan roots may be showing!  :2funny:

Donuts look lovely framed. Personaly I like the tablecloth I think it compliments the design of the platter. But otherwise an ecru as Mea said would be good. Looking forward to seeing this one done.  :painting:

:thankyou: Terri, Win & Bhavna! And I'll experiment with a tanish color, Mea - thanks for the idea! And Win, I may throw in a slight pattern as well once I paint the platter...

And Val - I got all but the artichoke hearts correct - I thought they were either brussels sprouts or zucchini slices! And i think carrots is close enough to rainbow, so no points lost there!! Not sure how to make that tuna look more attractive! And are you truly a vegan?? Living on the water I would think you're a fish eater at least!
Cheers,
Sharon

Agree, too busy.  The idea of a plain table cloth is great.

What I would find attractive, personally, would be to zoom in the center of the big plate (square or rectangle) and stop before the end of the plate... so no plate, no tablecloth, no wall.  Just a colourful focus on those beautiful veges.  Following the rainbow, or suttlely a color palette, would be fun.

But this may not be what your buyer has in mind...

Cheers, Annie

Val - 30 years a vegan - that's a long time. Sounds like you've returned to the other side now!!

Annie - I would have zoomed in, too - but the client likes the table included since she's a caterer and it gives her clients a perspective of how the plating looks on the table...I've got it sketched...now I just have to get the courage to start painting it!
Cheers,
Sharon

Not 100% back to the 'other' side. Had to revert somewhat a number of years ago due to a blood disorder.

This will be a breeze to paint.... now that bread and pastry truck.... that was a challenge!   :heeha:

You've got this one.  :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:   The crystal never lies!  ;)

Love you, Val - a good reminder of what was a real painting challenge that I got through a couple of years ago! Puts this one  into perspective!!
Cheers,
Sharon
