Mea and Patricia--This background approach almost feels like cheating, it is so simple.  You just have to lay in saran wrap and stencils into very wet paint and wait.  I think the sanded pastel paper helps to create cool designs also.  I must say that all I think about is faces so I forced a face out of this but I think it would be cool for painting animals, birds or flowers.  I bought some stencils from stencil girl which are great but have loved trying to make my own from the glue gun.  I am sure Dennis has probably discussed these methods in some lesson.

Thanks for sharing these methods, Lynn. Sounds very interesting with such great effect. Your fantasy is amazing with the figure you've drawn!
