I had printed this out long back courtesy to Pixabay to paint when I have the time. Now on a rainy day (perfect for painting) started early in the morning and now I think it's almost finished. Painted on 40 x 60 cm, hot pressed 300 g/m2. The original background is black. I am not sure if a black background will suit the portrait. It might be difficult to get a homogenous background eventhough I would love to do it again after learning from the pomogranate still life class.  :smiley6600:
I need help, comments or suggestions for this, dear PB.  :help:
Should I leave it the way it is and put a colourful passepartout instead?  ???
BTW, a tip during travelling: I took a shelf board from the room, put it against a wall and used as an easel. :smart:

Thanks Trev, I found this lady ( this photo) made for painting!

Thanks Teresa.  :D. I enjoyed painting this. The light source seems to play a role in differentiating colours and contrasts.

Gita

This is stunning!!!  Such fine details.

While black makes a great background for still life, I worry that it might overwhelm this lovely lady.

As it appears on my screen, it looks like there is a soft pink background and that looks quite nice as such.

I love the make-do easel idea.

:thankyou: Mea! I am also thinking of leaving the way it is. The pomegranate lesson gave me a leap in my technique. Thanks to Dennis.

 She is stunning Gita , you have captured the softness and the colours of the fabric beautifully. I think what ever you choose, a black background or not , will be perfect. Each one would create a different feel to the painting but be equally lovely.

Perfect!!!!!!  Gita, this is so amazing.

I wish this woman were your best friend so that you could see the smile on her face and tears in her eyes when you showed it to her.
