Maria,  I agree with Mea - a clever use of materials. Nicely done.
I looked up the bird when the challenge started and it appears to be a  Hairy Woodpecker.

I see PB pals call you Maria, so I will use this name as well to congratulate you on your work with mixed media.
The clever way in which you used everyday materials to render the original photo leaves me breathless...
Your presentation is truly amazing and worthy of all the prizes in the world.  Thank you for sharing your art.

   Personally, I'm not the best at identifying birds. This is the same fellow from a different angle that I used for the drawing challenge. I've been told that it is either a Downey Woodpecker, or a Red Headed Woodpecker. Whatever it is you did a fabulous job!  O0     :congrats:

An interesting entry Maria, I like your use of fabric  .... This little fellow is probably a hairy woodpecker or is possible a Downey woodpecker.   The Downey is very small like a sparrow and very shy.

My Woodpecker for the Mixed Media Challenge  Is done with Water Colour paints and FC Polychromo Colour Pencils On Daler Rowney Water Colour Paper.

THE WOODPECKER

Taptaptaptaptaptaptap....
Taptaptaptaptaptaptap.

Hey, pretty fella!
That you knockin'?
Big project huh?

Yeah, I know you dont have time to talk -
Gotta keep the chips flyin'
So you've got a safe place to put the acorns.

I've only got one question,
Then I won't bother you anymore.
Ive often wondered;
Do you ever get a headache?

 :)
