So relieved to hear that you are back safely Val. Hopefully, you will now have time to play with all your art purchases.   :yippee:   I have been wanting to ask you how you like the Lucida projector which I think you purchased some time ago?  I use the grid method to enlarge but heck, it is time consuming.

:heeha: Well, you can tell I'm back on the Rio..... internet has been down!!!        :2funny:

Thank you all for your good wishes.    All of my best wishes are with the islands in the east Caribbean today as another hurricane (Maria), passes over them yet again. We still have not heard from some of our friends and illegally adopted families on the chain since Irma passed over. I fear that with all of the loose debris still about, this one could prove even more dangerous.

On a happier note, I am so happy to be back aboard PJ!   :boat:    :yippee: Even if we've had thunderstorms, torrential rains, and HEAT!!!    It will be a few days before we have everything sorted and all of the systems up and running properly. BUT.... I fully intend to sneak a few hours here and there  ^-^   to muck about with my beautiful new pastels!!!  :heeha:   I am so excited to get stuck in and watch all of Dennis' lessons..... best get some ear plugs Dennis.... we are going to be having a lot of discussions!!!  :2funny:

   Before I move on, Patricia bring out the bat!  :knuppel2: I was supposed to post about the Lucy along with a photo.  I'll get on that as soon as we get sorted.
Cheers, Val

Val, it is so lovely to hear your news and to know how happy you are to be back on PJ.  Also looking forward to seeing what you do with the pastels.  You will love them, I am sure. As for Lucy .... I could not remember the proper name,  :crazy2: , there is no hurry at all, I was just interested to know what you thought about it and if it is worth purchasing. When you settle down and you think about it, I would be so appreciative if you could post a message to let us know so that if anyone else is interested, it would benefit them too.  Many thanks,

Patricia

;D   Dennis, I love your never ending optimism! I have been reading myself silly   :D so many different ways to apply the pastels.
OH the colours!!!  So bright and vibrant, it makes me happy just to look at them! (also gives me itchy fingers wanting to touch them!)
I am entranced.  We are going to have so much fun together!  :yippee:

I don't mind saying I almost fell over when I saw this lot! I kept asking 'Are you sure?' My goodness it felt like Christmas came early!  :santa:

I have read both of the books twice, on my third time through the 'Pastel Workbook' by Jackie Simmonds. Has shown me new techniques for the pastels. I pulled out a box today and started getting the feel for some of the different brands. There really is a difference! I have decided I don't like the scratchy ones at all. Even some of the really good brands have the odd colour that feels scratchy, so I just make note not to replace it and find another brand that matches and feels right.
Between Lynn's over the top generosity and my other purchases, I think I have enough to keep me in business for a few years!  :yippee:
Lynn was such an amazing help explaining the different papers and sharing her experiences.  :smitten:

We have another violent thunderstorm firing up so must shut down. Laters!
Cheers, Val
