I'm kind of proud of the way this turned out.
From a photograph taken a year ago in an auto museum. It's one of the images that has been burning a hole in my head ever since. Something clicked and I drew it in about 4 hours freehand. Graphite 8B,4B, 2B, 2H, 4H and 6H with color added after completion with colored pencil.

It looks to be quite a complex piece Brian. Unable to enlarge it so can't see much of the detailing. Great freehanding though.  O0

Brian, you have every right to be proud of this 59 Cadillac which you drew.  It is brilliantly drawn and free hand!! I also like the hint of colour.  A great job.

Thanks fr the compliments. I haven't posted for a long time so I'm not sure what the optimal size for posts is? I always reduce them to keep the bandwidth down.

Brian,

So good to see your vehicular artistry again.  Are more motorcycles on the horizon?

The Cadillac is beautifully drawn.   Not sure if it's the angle or not, but it seems that the chassis is sitting on the ground without wheels.   Maybe it's my eyesight.

Love the hint of color to bring it to life.

Freehand - WOW!

The photo was taken in a museum (Hence the ceiling tiles and lights reflecting in the paint). The wheels are far enough back that they get lost in the shadow.
I've been part of a 7 day Art Challenge on Facebook and after posting one of my motorcycle paintings it appears I may have a new commission to paint another motorcycle.
When we sold the house and took to the road in the motorhome I sold all my motorcycles. and so I don't have a lot of opportunities to paint them.
I had so much fun drawing the Cadillac that I took a TON of similar pictures at a car show last weekend so there may be more similar drawings/paintings coming.
All that being said I don't have much time for my own painting as I have started an art group here in the RV park we are in, I joined a local art league, I signed up for an urban sketching group and I have figure drawing one night a week too!
This Sunday I have 14 paintings in a fine art show at the RV park!
We'll be glad to get back on the road in April so we can relax.

Oh, Brian, I am so happy to hear of your fully-engaged art life.  So happy your talent is being put to good use.

Look forward to seeing paintings of the vintage cars.

I posted my wife's pictures of my paintings at the RV park artshow but for some reason they came out rotated 90 degrees! I'm working on correcting that.
Thanks
Brian
