Hello everyone!
I've recently started a series of drawings based on architecture from my country. This is the first one, ''Byzantion'', inspired from a detail seen on a church. The title is associated with the ancient empire of Byzantium, the city of Constantinople and Christianity, as there is a religious symbol here (the peacock, which represents resurrection in  Orthodox belief).
These being said, please let me know what you think and if there is something I can improve in this drawing.
I'm sorry for the poor quality image, the scanner didn't work properly this time :(

Great drawing.  I love this sort of stuff!  Always wanted to try some watercolors from the Book of Kells.  I think the precision it takes makes these tough

Nicely done.  So good to see something out of the ordinary.

This is fabulous Rebeca  :heeha:

I had taken a plethora of photos of the Mayan carvings on the Quirigua Stelae in Guatemala. I had planned on doing a series of drawings but unfortunately they were all on one of the drives when my old computer crashed. Haven't been able to obtain the proper housing to access as yet. Hoping they will still be accessible when I find the correct housing.
Cheers, Val

Beautiful drawing Rebeca.

Val: perhaps a good idea to store you photos in the future in the cloud. Then you will always be able to find it again

Thank you so much for your kind words, EmmaLee, Lynn, Mea, Val, Maryna, Patricia, Steve and Jay, I'm very happy you liked my work!  :1hug:
Lynn, I didn't know about the Book of Kells, such elaborated illustrations. I'm sure this would be an interesting subject for some drawings/watercolours.
Val, I've looked up Quirigua Stelae on Google and saw some images with those carvings, they are indeed quite special. I'm sorry to hear about your photos, I too had a similar experience and since then I've been storing my files on an external hard in addition to my computer.

Here is the second drawing of this series, ''Eclettismo'', based on an architectural detail seen on an abandoned summer theater from my city.

Rebeca, some of those carvings were so intricate and some were carved layer behind layer into the stone. I'm hoping to make another trip there to recapture a few. Then on to some of the larger Mayan sites to sketch.  :heeha:

I absolutely love the sketches you are producing!  O0

    Rebeca, your work is outstanding and I just love the way you shade. Your touch seems so delicate but crisp and very clear at the same time.  That's the only way I can describe what I am seeing and feeling about your drawings. They are beautiful for sure.
