I did manage to complete the barn though  any comments? This is my 1st free hand drawing and struggled with the window. Still not really happy with the right side of it.

Diane,

You are bringing back so many memories from the Let's Draw Course.

Some good - like the scumbled fish.  Loved that one.

Today - a bad memory - I, too, struggled with that window in the barn.

You are making good progress.    I salute you for doing it freehand on this.

You go, girl!

:heeha: Wow, going great guns Diane! Good on you for freehanding this, well done.  O0

I had a few issues with that side window as well. The shading inside needs to be darkest at the top and lighter toward the bottom as more light is blocked by the open flap nearer the top. Hope that makes sense. Your drawing is very neat and tidy. Good job.
Cheers, Val

Excellent, Diane       A  bit of history and trivia:

That barn is actually dilapidated and very close to where I used to live outside Auckland. It used to be a roadside farm stall. That right hand side was a "window" that flapped down to form a counter on which the farmer placed the veggies for sale. It is broken and can't close properly.

Ah, Dennis, as Paul Harvey would say.. "And that's the rest of the story."

I love anecdotes!
