When painting a scene from inside a screened-in porch, is it necessary to try to paint the screen?  If so, how would one go about doing this?  It does not show up well in the photo, but I know it is there, so I would like to know what to do with the screen.  Thanks.

Hi Tennmom,

I generally just leave out what doesnt work for me in a reference photo. I wouldnt know what to do with the screen as I dont know how it looks, where it is etc. Could you post a pic of the porch? I would then tell you what I would do. Your paintings are really awesome so Im sure you'll come up with something either or... :)

Thanks for your help Trev.  I am inclined to not bother with it either but wanted to know.  In the painting I have combined two photos, so only the end portion of the screen is in the painting. Here is my reference photo and the painting.

It's too beautiful to worry about whether it's a screened room, or not.

FRAME IT!

 I agree with the rest of our PBers, Linda. Leave it as it is. It is a charming scene of summer tranquility.  I love it.  :smitten:

Thank you Mea, Kathy S., Trev, and Patricia!  I sent a photo to the client, and she loved it.  Now I need to have prints made because her children want a copy also!  I think a lot of their fun memories were focused around this sleeping porch.

I have a question about the prints. Where do you get them done? I took my drawings of my grand daughters to Staples to get prints and they were not good at all. The copier they used could not pick up the exact tones of my drawings.
