 :thankyou: Dennis
This move has been a blessing in every way.
I started a pencil drawing yesterday. I hope to finish and post today.
Then onto some watercolor and colored pencil. Oh yes, ink too.  :D

:thankyou: Thank you, Val.  It's great to be back. I've been working on a pencil drawing for three days. Now that I have my grandkids near by, it is taking longer to complete a project. I'm loving the family time.  :smitten:

Kathy  :welcome:  back, it is so lovely to hear that your move went well and you sound so happy ... wish I could say the same!!!  I have been missing my art so much but will hopefully get back into the swing of things soon. My move was horrific and I am still in such a mess because two weeks after we moved to this rented townhouse, we left for Florida as we had booked at a time share, to holiday with my youngest daughter and her family for two weeks. Have just arrived back this evening and I am exhausted to say the least. Looking at the mess in this place makes me want to run a mile but will have to take everything in my stride. I can't say that I am a happy chappy moving from a house into a box of a townhouse because there is just no cupboard space or space for anything despite having got rid of three quarters of my former home!!!  Yes, we donated so much to the Goodwill and Christian Thrift store which both really benefited from us and it made me happy to have donated to good causes. I have had to purchase several racks to store/place some of my belongings on.  All my art paraphernalia is scattered around so it is going to take me some time to get sorted out. Anyway, I will be back just as soon as I can get some order in this townhouse.  Wish me luck :pullhair:

Good luck Patricia. I'm sorry you are having a hard time with the move.  I hope you can get that townhome comfortable and feeling like "home" soon. I miss seeing you on the site.  :gl2:

Patricia, so sorry for your troubles. Things will settle and fall into place shortly, you'll see. Getting used to smaller spaces is a chore for sure, but just take a deep breath, and you'll get it sorted.  O0   Looking forward to seeing your smiling face and lovely drawings/paintings.

:thankyou: :thankyou:  EmmaLee and Val for your lovely messages.  Makes me feel so much better.  Just after my arrival in Florida I came down with the most horrific cough and cold and am still battling it.  I don't seem to have any energy so I expect to be delayed a little longer than hoped but in time, I will get settled.  Thanks once again for the encouragement which means so much to me.  Love you all.

Patricia - it sounds like you've had such a stressful time with this move. Take a deep breath as Val suggested, get healthier first, than start to purge. I've learned that less really is more. In our PV condo, we just have the basics - and I discovered while there last month that I'm actually more creative and productive in less space! When you're ready to paint again, start with a repeat of one of Dennis's classes - that will get you back in painting mode very quickly!!
Cheers,
Sharon

Sharon,  :thankyou:  for your sweet message.  Before I continue, I just love your new avatar, it is beautiful.  Oh! Sharon, I have got rid of so much "stuff" and really have the bare essentials now and even that is too much for this place.  I am from the old school and I cannot get used to the kitchen, dining room and lounge all being in one room!!  I realise that that is the modern way of living but change is very difficult as one ages. The most difficult part is not having cupboard space for nothing has a "home" and it is very frustrating as I hate things lying around.  I know I shouldn't complain for I have a lot more than many people and with time, I will settle in.

Thanks so much for your message and yes, I will get back into my art which I miss so much. In fact, I have started but not finished a pencil lesson so that makes me happy for it is a step in the right direction.

Yes, 3 big deep breaths.

It will all come in place, take it easy.

Thanks about my new avatar, Patricia - took that in PV after my hair stylist there got done with my new cut and color - the new me!!

There are folks that specialize in organizing people's homes - maybe you can find one in your community to help you figure out how to better put things away in a limited space. And I actually love having our living/dining/kitchen in one room - maybe it is a generational thing!

And good for you for starting a pencil drawing!! Art is truly good for the soul!
Cheers,
Sharon

:thankyou:  Annie, yes, I am getting settled but very slowly.

:thankyou:  Sharon for your message and yes, the "new me" is beautiful, your cut and colour are excellent. I guess living in one room is a generational thing but I am from a different generation and change is always difficult as one ages but I am adapting although it is not without a struggle.   :2funny:

Hi Patricia.  :1hug:
Oh how I understand the struggles of downsizing. As Sharon said, it gets easier over time and then becomes a new freedom. I love having less to take care of in both home space and "stuff". Like you, I like everything to have a "home".  We have become creative with ways to store items. There are many decorative storage containers available. Command hooks have become a resource for hanging various items from dusters, mops, and brooms to jewelry. Giver yourself a little time to adjust. It will all come together.

Like you, I've not had much time for my art. At first it was due to the move, now it's because I am spending oodles of time with my precious family. I have these great plans to spend a Saturday drawing and then my grand daughters ask to come over. Well, they have stolen my heart ❤️. They trump drawing every time 😃. I'm working on a new colored pencil project. I hope to get some time on it soon.

I look forward to us both posting our work soon.

By the way. I met a lady at work today who is very interested in painting. I told her about PB. She was so excited. I hope she will join us. It would be delightful to have a local PB member to hang out with.  :)
