Hi Annie, We don't have an exact date for our move yet. We are listing our home this week.  They have been selling quickly in my community so we are hopeful that it won't be on the market long. Our goal is to move in March. There is so much to do in the meanwhile.  We are sorting, packing, yard sales etc.  Plus I'm still working full time.  That's why I'm not painting.

I find pencil and colored pencil are easy to take out and clean up while I have limited time for artwork. I am so hooked on art. Paintbasket is such a delightful Godsend to me. I love our community. I'm also playing with stuff at the colored pencil club and another drawing site but PB is home 🏡.

Anyway, I'm expecting that after we get settled I will have more time for art and even my own space to turn into a studio.  :painting:

Best of luck with the sale of your home and the big move. Pop by whenever you can, we'll leave the light on.  ;)
Cheers, Val

Yes, the best  part of moving is tossing away what you don't need.  Less to pack, less to pay in transport, and less to unpack and organize.   Best time to size down... and that means more room for a studio.

Good luck!  Still pop your head from time to time, to keep your spirits up.
Cheers, Annie

Oh Kathy, I have obviously missed the moving plans so I hope this is a wanted changed.  Just sold a house recently and it was a pain to pack and clean but a delight to rid ourselves of too much stuff!  Are you downsizing, or moving to another community?  I noticed you had been away some.  Glad you are using those pencils though--I know you will be back  to get your FIX!  Good luck!

Oh yes, Annie. I love to purge that extra accumulated stuff.  I will certainly be around as much as possible.  :1hug:

Hi Lynn. This is a very exciting and happy move. We are relocating from California to Johnson City, Tennessee. My son, daughter-in-law, and 3 grand daughters live there. Those three little cuties I just drew are the ones I am moving to be near. My son and his new bride moved there 13 years ago after he finished school. Now it's our time to join them.

You bet I'll be back for my art fix. Regularly! I'm having to make myself be sensible and prep for the move instead of as much drawing as I'd like to do.  ;)

Kathy, I wish you well with your relocation which will be such a happy one being near your loved ones. I too, am in the middle of packing as we have sold our house and want to downsize but I am having such a problem with getting rid of stuff because the moment I get rid of anything, I find that I need it  :crazy2:   I tend to be a hoarder which mould is so hard to break out of.  I value and am attached to everything but when it comes down to the crunch, I guess I will be happy to give things away to the Thrift Stores which will ultimately benefit those in need.

Welcome to Tennessee Kathy!  I think you will really like it here.  I am at the other end of the state from where you will be, and you will have the mountains.  Hope you enjoy.

:thankyou: Thank you for the well wishes, Dennis, Linda, and Patricia.

I am excited about living in Tennessee. It will be quite a change from California. I nice one I believe.

Linda, I was wondering where you were in TN. Too bad it's the other end of the state. I'd love to live close to a PB member and pal around doing art stuff.  ;D

Yes, Dennis, I am hoping it is an easy transition. So much to coordinate with the sale and then purchase of a new home. I know it will all be worth it.

I wish you well with your down sizing, Patrica. That is never easy. Are you moving locally? We moved from a large house into our condo about 3 years ago. At that time we purged a lot of stuff. Now that we are moving across the  country, we must purge even more. T

Kathy,

Sorry, I seem late to the going-away party here.

Hope the move goes smoothly and you have a wonderful life with your family close by.  Don't forget us get back to PB as soon as you are settled.

Thanks Mea,

I'm poking around on the forum daily. I could never forget my PB  family.  I'm just not doing any major art projects until after the move.  :painting:

Kathy we are looking to rent for a year because in Winter nobody seems to move and I don't want to rush into anything. We will purchase when we find something to our liking but right now renting is our best option. When we finally decide on what to purchase, I don't want to rush into it as I want that move to be my last. Yes, we will be in the same area for my children and grandchildren are here ... five minutes down the road from us presently.

Anyway, I wish you a smooth and happy move to your new State and home.

Ah yes, Patricia. So wise not to rush. We are contemplating on "find and purchase" so we only have to move once or rent and take our time. It all depends on what is available when our condo is sold. I'd love to move once but must love it to purchase. So many unknown aspects of our adventure. It will all work out as it should though.
