These are a series of 4x6" paintings I made to be used as cards. I have 2 tubes of Daniel Smith iridescent blues, and a bottle of iridescent medium. I have found that the medium works best when painted on a white background, and the iridescent paints show up best on a black background, but I was happy with both really. Unfortunately the iridescence doesn't show up well in the photographs, but I hope these pics will give yo some idea of the effects.
The water was painted with the iridescent blues pre-mixed paints, and the turtle with ordinary watercolours mixed with iridescent medium.
As you will see in this pic and that of the flamingo I found it difficult to blend and hide the brush strokes when I applied paint mixed with iridescent medium to larger areas.
Iridescent medium and ordinary w/c paint on black paper except for the blue which is the iridescent blues I previously mentioned.
The silver background is acrylic but the flowers and leaves are watercolour and iridescent medium.

:thankyou:I had a lot of fun doing them, Bill. When I get around to trying the swallows, I want to try them again.
