Dear all,

First of all I wish you a very happy new year with a lot of paint pleasure!

My name is Mariëlle, a Dutch, married mother of two grown up girls. Since 2014 I am painting and from the start I have painted with water mixable oil paint. I used also traditional oil paint but I never switched completely.

This site got my attention because of the learning and very clear lessons given by Dennis and Nolan and the very nice forum with honest advice. I hope to learn here and to upgrade my skills. Furtermore I hope to share my enthusiasm about water mixable oils with those who are interested.

Kindest regards,
Mariëlle

I have not tried the water-soluable oils yet, so look forward to seeing what can be done with them

Hi Kathy,
Thank you for your warm welcome.

I was very glad with the lessons about wmo given by Nolan. And this is what took my attention to this website. For me wmo has much more benefits than regular oil and for me it is a lot easier to work with than acryl. But maybe it is easier because I've painted from the beginning with wmo and later on I have tried to paint with other mediums. And every time I got back to my wmo.
I hope that more people will try wmo and I will support this when needed.

Because of my job I have not much time to paint but I paint with pleasure every time.

Today I will publish the painting that is now on my easel. This is only until a part of (trees) the second layer. The first layer was only wmo and water, as you still can see on the foreground (reed, water and lily leaves). At this moment I am a little bit further but still in the second layer because painting the lilly leaves is a lot of work.

Furtermore I hope you will understand my English if it isn't correct.

Warm regards, Mariëlle
