This is my own composition, using the rose and hibiscus leaves from my garden.  I got the glass vase from a thrift shop.

I really love doing the line and wash.

This type of painting was requested by my senior citizens for our class this week.

Sorry about the mess I made of the shadow - I really need to do better with shadows.

Thanks Win, Val, and Gita for the comments on the lighthouse.  Yes, Gita, I have come a long way from "cannot."

Mea, this is awesome  :heeha:   even awesomer than awesome!!! It's brilliant.

The shadow is so slight you could just fade away what you have and it would be fine. The transparency of the vase is excellent, the detailing of the leaves and flower.... banner job.  O0

If I had 5 gold stars, you'd get them all.
Cheers, Val

As Val said awesomer than awesome Mea  :smitten:

As I am confined to suitcase living for awhile my family gave me a travel water colour set and pens etc for me to try my hand at pen and ink line wash drawings. Am even more inspired to try now.   :)

Oh my, Mea - you're the line and wash Queen!! I can't believe what a difference from your first painting in this medium to this one - I think you've met your painting mate - keep going and good luck with the show!!

Mea, what a beautiful painting you have produced! I do think we tend to excel at that to which we feel instinctively drawn, and you have found yours.  :smitten:  :smitten:  :smitten:

Mea, you have your own touch to line and wash which I absolutely like! This one is extremely good. I find the transparency of the vase, the composition, the mild touch of ink and the pale colours so inspiring.    In a frame the beauty would be even more enhanced. I would love to see that, too.  :smitten:
