Welcome back Val! Missed you. Hope your sailing back was smooth. The weather is rainier than other Decembers, I believe. We experience the sunny periods in between as very enjoyable. The rainy periods were enough for me to paint like a "maniac" `(that's what my husband says). :-\ Nevertheless, I could watch a number of classes which I can't do otherwise due to lack of time. I had to balance my time between my craze for painting and time for ourselves. That was / is real hard work!! ;)

I was in Eskiss, this charming art shop in Fort de France which you suggested.  :painting: Thanks again.  Bought some materials, I have to take care that I do not have over baggage. Bought a derwent electric eraser!Looking forward to get to know this better. Also bought size 6 and 8 chinese painting brushes for WC.

We could experience the busy and exiting Saturday shopping roads of Fort de France. Wow, I would love to paint some of the people I saw! They were so unique in appearance.  :heeha:

I think Martinique is beautiful place with the French charm and the Caribbean way of life.  :yippee:  :yippee: I have to improve my French though.

We are leaving on coming Tuesday to Berlin via Paris. I heard that there is a Condor flying from Frankfurt since this November. Maybe the next time..... :smiley6600:

We have had days and days of rain. Wettest December I can remember anywhere!  Beautiful here today though, makes up a bit for the past two weeks!

Glad you enjoyed Eskiss, amazing what they could pack into such a tiny shop! I hope the next couple of days are wonderful and bright for you, and have a safe trip home. I would love to see Paris!  :envy:
Cheers, Val

Thanks Danielle! :smiley6600:
Val, Paris is so uplifting as a city. So vibrant and all these old buildings are a treat to see. Berlin would have looked similar if it hadn't been completely destroyed during the war. But Berlin has a charm of its own, now.
We just managed to see Centre Pompidou and went through all those famous art exhibits. I got a lot of painting inspiration! I feel like painting in oils now. I have to do some of Nolan´s oil classes.

 I have gone through that so many times! You see something, or someone, and just want to pick up some oil or acrylic paints and   :painting: .  That is about the only time I am glad there are no art shops nearby! I have my w/c, pastels, scratch board, ink, charcoal, and pencils! I do have a few acrylics from years back, but not many colours well suited to one another. That is more than enough to keep me going....but oh the temptations!  >:D AND then those Clark Boys just keep tempting me with such incredibly alluring subjects and .... well, you know how that goes!   :cost:    :2funny:
Cheers, Val

I shall still go for oil classes, Val. You never know where ones creativity explodes unless you've tried it. :smitten:

Absolutely Gita, I will go back to oil....one day when we are off the boat. Not feasible until then.

But I swear..... I'm going to stick tape on my computer screen over the 'coming soon' so I can't see them!
Cheers, Val

Gita, these are all wonderful.  I am most fond of the portrait of the woman selling run, you have done such a great job with her face!  Keep up the great work!
