Love the grain on the wood.

The grass above the dog's head looks more like spiked hair.  Maybe if you bring the dark part down to his head as Dennis suggested, it will look better.

This is very enduring, Maria. The expanded view looks so much better than the thumbnail. The thumbnail is deceiving to the eye.  No expert here, but as the doggie is looking into a sunrise or sunset maybe a bit of shadow on the planks behind her.  There is a good feeling to this illustration.  Very nice work with the pen. :)
