;)Hi, I am Neil from Brizzie - started playing around with Watercolours and Pastels a few years ago and then work got in the way and never got back to them. Was retired from work - hallelujah - Had heart attacks etc and heart surgery last year and wife challenged me to start painting again so started doing Acrylics and found I hadnt forgotten stuff and then this year have started playing with oils which I love. Favourite thing is portraits and animals. Had a good look at this site and enjoy Nolans tutoring style so will follow this site hope to learn lots of stuff in all facets of painting in all medias. I use Genesis heatset oils which I do recommend.  ;)

:bigwelcome: and Hello Neil!!! Extra points to your wife for getting you painting again! Buy some flowers from me would you?  ;)
Neil, you will love Nolan's portrait course, and the Big 5 animal series is not to be missed if you like the wild ones! What a time you are going to have.  :painting:    I got so  excited over the Big 5 that I bought a couple of the lessons and I don't even paint oils! I'm a watercolourist through and through  :2funny:

Nolan is excellent and will take you on a journey of a lifetime. There's so much to choose from and if you have any queries at all, just sing out and helping hands will be there to get you sorted.

Welcome, I'll be looking for you on the forum. Come often and have fun!  :yippee:
Cheers, Val

Neil,

I checked your gallery.  Nice work.

Can you talk a little bit more about Genesis heat-set oils?  You can post the topic under Art Product Reviews on the FORUM.  (It's under OTHER at the bottom of the FORUM menu.)

Is your avatar a self-portrait?  I like the simplicity of it.

Welcome aboard!  You will have a good time here and will learn so much in a very friendly and relaxed environment.  We are just a big international art family... with none of the family feud issues.

Many of us have regained some balance, happiness, and general well being after stress, serious illness, and simply a far too demanding workload... artists and non-artists alike.
Cheers, Annie
