Veronique,
Just listen to your fellow PB-ers and come over to the DARK side. It took me a long while to understand that the dark contrasts are key to making a painting really stand out.

Go DARK!

Hi all!

Thank you so much for your comments. I did the exercise again. I think I am seeing some difference now. Please keep your comments coming  ;D

No problem! But I don't understand why your images keep disappearing. I'm getting the "x" icon again. This normally appears when the link to the image is broken. I got it before, then when I checked again, the image appeared. Now it's gone again. Are you deleting or moving your image after posting?

Maybe there is an issue with your connection or your browser. I am not deleting anything, since I use my previous work to look out for mistakes and compare them, so I can improve.

No, it's not my connection. Otherwise I'd have a problem with other peoples images. Funny thing is that I can always see the landscape sketch you posted, but not the ball.

 How odd Steve. No problem here, I'm using Firefox. I know I've had that happen before, I think I was using explorer back then.

Veronique, you are coming along famously!  :heeha:   The ball exercise will teach you about how much pressure to use and when to change pencils. Don't be afraid to go darker, it's good to make yourself jump once in a while!  ;D It does take a bit of practice and you are doing very well.  O0 Keep them coming!
Cheers, Val

I know the reason; I just haven't found a suitable fix.

The reason I can't see it is because she loaded the image as a PNG file. IE doesn't play well with this type of file. This explains why I can see everyone else's and only one of Veronique's images....the one she loaded as a JPG.
