Hello all,
I am a 52 year old Irish woman living in Switzerland.  I have never done an art before last October when I took 10 acrylic painting lessons (and then my teacher moved to Miami!).  I am now obsessed with painting!  It makes me feel wonderful and I am definitely improving but I don't know if I'm any good.  I get mainly positive reviews from friends and family but I can't be objective and would love to know if I am now at the level I could actually display (and maybe even sell) my art.

I know I have a lot more to learn but would love some feedback but have not yet worked out how to post anything in the gallery - or attach a photo to this...!

Many thanks,
Lindsey
Lindsey

Lindsey,

Welcome to the Paint Basket.  There are very many of us with similar stories to yours, so you are among friends here.

I checked your gallery and enjoyed looking at your art.  Love your cows!!

Your colors are bright.  You are off to a great start.

As others have said, take some classes her to learn new techniques.

Hope to see a lot more of your work.

 :welcome: aboard Lindsey!

You are a long lenght ahead of many of us when we started, and still are.  I have learned so much at PB.  I never painted before and now I paint better than I could ever had imagine.  Education is A+ and there are classes for beginner and advanced artists.

You need to hear or read how Nolan became a teacher.  His journey will reassured you that with practice and good structured lessons, we can all be good artists and do well.

Looking forward to see you around the forum.

If you want to test the level of instructions from our master artist, there are a few free ones on PB.  Fair warning, you will get addicted... you can then by a specific class for a fraction of what you would taking group lessons.  If you want to do more, check the sister website onlineartlessons.com. If you want to consider the business of art (saling) you should take his course on this topic.  You will find all you need and more in about 16 lessons.

Lucky you, living in Switzerland.  Brown cows from that region of the world have been my favorite animals since I was a child.  But I usually have a cat or a dog for pet ☺
Cheers, Annie

Lindsey you have come to the right place. Nolan and Dennis are the best, I don't know how they do it, but they still find time to give us feedback a lot of times. Then of course there are the rest of us, who will also put our two bobs worth in, but always in a positive way.  :painting:
