Hello everyone! I'm Sunshine Louise E. Estrada. I'm 21 years old and I live in the Philippines where the 7,107 islands is located! Mabuhay! I LOVE ART ever since i was 2 years old my mom told me i've been sketching alot and doodling mermaids on my paper. My classmates are jealous of me because I can draw and they can't. :P During my primary education, I got 1st place on my 1st attempt on Poster-making contest and in my 2nd, I got the gold medal. On my Grade 6, I got 7th place in Editorial Cartooning in our Division School Press Conference just here in our country. It's an achievement for me to be able to experience the things I love to do. But then during my high school years, I got out of that comfort zone because there's so many things to enjoy aside from art. But as I enter college which is where I am now, I missed art so badly and scanned for variety of arts that I can see here in the net till i found this website full of beautiful and realistic drawings which I really wanted to engage myself of doing. I'm really interested of using Ball point pens as the writing medium very much. the rest would just be bonuses. I wanted to learn how to shade and tone because I wanted to draw or sketch real still life portraits and someday do all kinds of stuff such as digital painting and to use other mediums also. :-\ Overall, I can be flexible and eager to learn new things and techniques using different mediums.  :thankyou: :-* :1hug: :-* :1hug: Sincerely, Sunshine

Greetings Louise!! You will love the pen and ink and learn the shading techniques quick as a wink!  ;)

The drawing courses are fantastic!  :yippee: The Let's Draw is a great start for a quick refresher and learning all the basics. Then move on to the drawing course and oy  the things you learn to do!!!  :faint: Will knock your socks off!!!  :2funny:

Should you run into any difficulties or have any queries, just sing out and someone will be about to lend a hand. Feel free to post some of your pre-PB (paintbasket) works in your gallery so we can have a boo. The gang here are very friendly and we need all the help we can get.

As you're scouting about the site, pop in and have a looksee at the challenges. They're great fun and we all learn a lot by pushing out of our comfort zones, PLUS there are PREZZIES!!!!!!

So come on in and make yourself at home. Time to have some fun!  :yippee:
Cheers, Val

Sunshine,

WELCOME to Paintbasket  - a great place to learn art and make new friends.

Val just said everything I would have said, but she does it more colorfully.

We're here to help.  Show us what you've got.

Sunshine,

I'll take the liberty of answering for Val as she is probably trying to avoid a hurricane right now.

Go to the Paintbasket.com home page and click on COURSES at the top.  You'll find the Link to Let's Draw as the third item down.

It is such a worthwhile course and will really give you a great foundation.

We'll look forward to seeing your drawings.  To post them, go to the FORUM and find the Let's Draw Course under the Pencil Drawing category.  Then start a new topic that will hold y all your Let's Draw work as each of us have done.  Name it something cute like "Sunshine Shines on the Let's Draw Course."  Might be a good idea to look at other's entries so you get an idea of what each of us did.

Good luck.

Mea,
:thankyou: I'll do that. What do you mean by a hurricane? like personal problems or literally a hurricane?  :o Hope she's fine. I saw her drawings while scanning this site. For a beginner like me, i can say she draws beautifully and precise such as the african-american boy portrait. Very beautiful, realistic and 8):thankyou: again for that! Have a nice day! I'll post something in there right now. I just drew something but it is still unfinished. Maybe a few advices in there when you see it to get me going.

Hurricane Earl is in the Caribbean right now, Sunshine.  I'm sure Val and Lloyd take all the proper precautions.

Glad to help, Val.  Heard you might have had your hand's full with Earl (not Lloyd).

Now it's up to Sunshine to show us what she's got!
