This has been one of the hardest decisions myself and Dennis have had to make in a long time due to the incredibly high quality of every single entry into the challenge. If it was possible we would just give everybody the prize.  :-\

Everybody looked the bull in the eye and promptly charged, well done. We are very proud of the results of every single painting

So we have narrowed the field down to not 3, but 5 finalists - that is how close this challenge has been contested, but now it's your turn to have your say.

Please look at the finalists paintings below and select your favourite.

Voting will remain open for the next 3 days to give everybody a chance to cast their vote.

The winner will receive a copy of the Rose class double DVD set, plus their next live class is free

Congrats and Good luck to the finalists

1 - GailBrown

2 - Karen

3 - Ella

4 - ValW

5 - Gloria

PS - Feel to give your thoughts on the paintings below, but please don't reveal who you voted for

Boy, that was a tough one...  :o
You're right, they are all exceptional.  O0
I guess I'll go first.  O0

Just a note to say, wouldn't it be better to leave the voting open for a week? Not everybody visits daily. Three days isn't very long, IMO.

I think I like #1 just a wee bit better than the rest, but I absolutely love them all!

I vote for No 4 ValW - all round more realistic - not only the flower, but bottom leaves as well - very well done!  :flowers:

I voted for NO:3 and my reason is the way the light has been  captured on the rose and leaves, but they are all fantastic!

You are right they are all excellent so it comes down personal choice , I like the light on the leaves and the leaf escaping the frame in number 3, so its  Ella's rose for me and well done everyone who entered.

Hello Everyone, beautifull paintings in my inbox starts anyday off perfectly.

My vote is for #4 / Val'.I think the shadows were more 'pronounced' which made me notie the highest leaf was actually folded...
.....loved the unusual background effect on the 1st rose.
Regards Fay.

I think they were all excellent works, but one stood out. I picked #4 because of it's brilliant color in the edges and the greens in the leaves.

This is a tough one. After loading and comparing each side by side, I have to go for #4. Both the colouring of the petals along with the shadowing really brought out the curls in the petals, which in this stage of bloom most roses exhibit. All are extremely well done and I dip my brush to you all.
Cheers, Val
