Title: Hay Bales Lesson #35
Post by: Tousabella on December 06, 2015, 12:43:37 PM
Dennis, if I were to use Acrylics on this picture, do we mix our colors pretty much the same as pastels?  I'd like to try this in acrylic and thought I'd better check on mixing, before I "expirement" on my own!  Any help will surely do.  I have missed painting sooooo much.  I check every day to see what's going on and how everyone is doing. I'm still on the 'bad drugs' that make me shake, but they are helping with the breathing, so six of one and half a dozen of another!  LOL  Know that painting will help in all ways to heal the soul.
Thanks....

Retta,

Good to see you posting and getting your fingers back on the brush.

Take care.

Retta, a difficult question. The two mediums have very different techniques. Acrylics blend very easily, while in pastels you have to use different shades of the same colour. It is not easy trying to blend some colours together. The only way is to overlay them a then do mimimal blending. I'm afraid that experimenting is the way to go!

Thanks, Dennis.  I kinda figured that was the way to go!  I'll just leave LOTS of room on the palett...LOL.
