Title: Soap Prints
Post by: njnjgirl on August 17, 2015, 06:27:36 AM
I am sure this is not new to most but I just read about this in an art book I have which outlines artist techniques.  You can make a print of an object by putting soap on it and painting over it then placing it on your paper.  I would imagine just paint alone would also work.  But I did use the soap and smeared it on a leaf then added my paint.  I placed them on the paper and put another piece of paper over it and pressed down.  I think this would look great in the background of florals  ....these are a couple  of my tries on old scrap watercolor paper that I had.

Wow--those are really cool!  :D  Did you use liquid soap or damp bar soap? I wonder what other objects one could use.

Thanks for sharing that, Mary Lou.  They look so pretty.

I want to try that with the autumn leaves when I am back in New England in October.

I used liquid soap, Sue.  I wonder too what else I can use to make a print. I will be looking around. :detective:
