Title: Skipping videos
Post by: Sacgal/Sharon on March 03, 2015, 03:47:16 PM
For some reason, the P&I video lessons keep skipping portions of what Dennis is teaching. It happened at the end of the Rose and is happening with the Elephant around the 7 minute stage. I'm able to work around it but it's a bit frustrating...I'm not going on youtube to download these lessons - this is from the PB My Classes site. Thanks for helping!

Sharon,

What browser are you using?  I have stopped using Internet Explorer to watch them because sometimes I cannot get them to move forward, when I need to skip to a particular section.

I switch to Safari and it works perfectly.  Poor Nolan must get dizzy from my jumping back and forth!!!

Moral of the story:  See if it works okay in a different browser.

Mea - I have a Mac Book Pro so it uses Safari. I've never had any problems before with PB classes.  If you watch at the 7min mark for about 45-50 seconds it like a page turns to a new chapter...

Sharon, I just watched the video and see where you are referring to.  Perhaps this was edited to make the video shorter, because at the end of the video Dennis is still finishing up when the music comes on and then it just ends.

Sharon, your problem sounds way too techie for my skills.  Sounds like you need expert help on this.  Sorry.

Just glad to know it's not just me. Hopefully Nolan or Dennis will pipe in on this issue.

I watched the elephant video from 6:30 mark to 9:00 and didn't catch what the problem is that you are having Sharon. I watched the last 5 minutes of the rose video-I believe that is edited that way.

I've used Explorer, Chrome and Firefox and Firefox has been the most stable for YouTube video streams.

Sharon,
I also have a MacBook Pro and I use Chrome. I watched the video of the Elephant and at approx. 7:45 or so Dennis is working on the shrubs at the base of elephant and then a page slides over the drawing and the new page is a bit more complete with Dennis adding lines to the elephants leg. If this is what you mean then I see it too.
I wonder if it was used to speed things along a little?

Again, glad it's not just me, Liana! I guess it's OK - I was able to do the missing pieces on my home for both this, the rose and the farm house...just didn't know if it were intentional to test our abilities!

You are not alone just took a look at the rose video and at 1:26:39  Dennis is working on the rose stem and then it jumps to near completed right after with the leaves all filled in.

True it may be a little test but you passed! Gold Star   ;)

I don't think it is skipping-it is edited that way!  ;)

When you say skipping I think accidental or something is haywire.

Edited to be that way I am fairly certain.
