Title: How to access your classes
Post by: nolan on December 10, 2013, 02:29:09 PM
welcome to paintbasket (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h-9_rtdWG8#ws)

1) On Computers: Hover your mouse over the Classes menu (1). A drop down will appear with all the class options
On Mobile Devices:  Click the Class menu to show the drop down

2) Click on Live Classes to watch a live class or see the live class schedule

3) Click the All Classes option to see ALL the classes available in ALL the mediums and subjects

4) Normally you will hover over (computer) or click (mobile) the medium you are interested in, eg. Pencil Drawing
If you want to see all the classes in this medium, click the option

5) You can also see that there is a new popup menu where you can drill down the the different subjects in each medium, Free Classes or Animals, etc. To see only those classes click that option

6) Each medium also has a Lesson Plan which will list all the classes in that medium in the order that we recommend you follow them

In you acrylic course guide, the free lesson is listed as the tenth class you would take. That seems strange to me. Do you not have a Black Friday monthly or yearly sale?

Dave the acrylic club is new so the order is a tad odd as I used to do some oil and acrylic classes until we created a separate acrylic area.

Unfortunately we are unable to discount the individual clubs any further

I bought a class of ‘drawing' ‘mouths’ for my son.... we are not able to access the class.   It showed a little clip, but then told us to register (and this was after we paid through paypal).    After registering we tried in vain for over 30 minutes to access the class.   It says we have ‘no classes’, and when we did find the mouth class it only tried to get us to pay $7 again to access it.   Please help.

Hi Spar,
You bought a 'class' not a course. Check under 'My Classes' then 'Oil', you should find it there.

Give us a shout if any further problem.

Catie,

Welcome to Paintbasket.

Try looking under COURSES on the menu at the top of the page.  Let's Draw is considered a course, not a class.  Hope that works.  If not, I'm sure Nolan will sort it out for you.

Let's Draw is a fabulous course.  Enjoy and be sure to post as you go along.

I'm sure Nolan will get it sorted out ASAP, Catie.  It's frustrating when you want to get started but there's an obstacle in the way.

Once you get into it, you will really enjoy it.

In the meantime, if you have not already done so, go to the Forum topics under the Let's Draw course and take a peek at what the rest of us have done.  It'll give you some idea of what to look forward to.

Hey Val,

That was actually the first thing I tried but it told me I had no classes. As of right now its still not showing up. There is not even a pencil heading under MyClasses. For some reason my purchase isn't coming through for the Let's Draw course even though I unlocked it. I have the order confirmation number and everything in an email.

Paypal only allows you to set up a recurring payment order for a maximum of 12 months. At the end of the 12 months Paypal cancels it automatically from their side :-\

Hi Everyone,

I am just getting back online after being gone for almost a month and can not access any of my classes. I am not sure if I am doing something in-correct or if there is a glitch somewhere. I am hoping Nolan sees this post. When I accessed my classes before, I was always sent to another site. Hope someone can help.

Welcome back, Ginger.

Hmmm... If you click on the green bar that says MY CLASSES, the menu of the different media should show up.  From that, you click on the medium for which you know you have bought a class, then the class and the word WATCH should appear.  Click on WATCH and you should have it.

If that does not work, we need Nolan.

I just bought the wolf pencil drawing class. I've followed the instructions to the letter, but the button on the class doesn't change.  I did use a different email to buy the class than the one I registered with.  So, I tried both emails... neither worked.

Welcome to the Paint Basket Michelle  :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

I am glad you found us on Youtube

What you watched was however not a Lets Draw course class, but one of the other classes I have on the site.
The Lets Draw classes are a lot shorter. You will however have an awesome start by following the Lets Draw course.

If however you would prefer to follow the longer "draw along" type classes, let me know and we will do a swap for you O0

:bigwelcome: Hi Michelle, You will love the Let's Draw course and many of the other classes available on Paintbasket. I also started with the Let's Draw course. It was amazing. Nolan's teaching style is so easy to follow. I look forward to seeing your drawings.

So glad to be here. Thanks for the warm welcome, Nolan and Kathy. Love the love.  :smitten:

Nolan, while I do prefer the longer "draw along" format, the Let's Draw is equally informative. It certainly rounded out my understanding and need for certain tools and how to make a tortillon. If the natural succession upon completion of Let's Draw is Draw Along, I'm in.

Kathy, you're quite right. I sat through several YouTube drawing lessons (much short by comparison) and no one ... not a single individual came close to Nolan's detailed teaching style. As soon as I have something to post, I'll share. Thus far, all I've completed is a textured ball w/ shadow on a table. Brought a tear to my eye, had to get up and do a happy dance!

Oh how I understand. I am happy dancing with you, Michelle. Do post your textured ball so we can all celebrate with you.  :yippee:

The usual reason for this is that you weren't logged in when you bought it.
Nolan will be asleep at this time so you just have to wait until he gets up.
It would possibly get to his attention a bit earlier if you sent him a Personal Message on the forum. He would see this before he starts reading the forum.
Just click on <My Messages> <Send Message>

For some odd reason it will not authorize my card I think there may be an issue with the payment site.  I had tried multiple cards and even tried pay pal choice but none are allowing for the authentication to process.  I am attempting to get the complete drawling course but like I said it is not working correctly so if I am doing something incorrect please let me know or look into your authenticate website to see if an issue persist on the site itself. Thank you very much.

:thankyou: for wanting to make a purchase, we appreciate it.

All I can think of at this point is that the payment processors are overwhelmed due to last minute Christmas purchases.

Please keep trying every now and again. If you still do not succeed, PM me and I will try and get a manual payment completed for you via Paypal O0

Hi guys,

Purchased 'How to Draw a Dog'. Only first section has downloaded drawing light haired dogs.
How can I access the rest.

Thanks Teyla

Hi Teyla

Course open over a period of time so with the dogs course, the light hair dog opens this week, next week the short hair dog and the next week the long hair dog.

If you prefer everything open now just let me know and I will advance you through the course

I would like some help, please - having a blonde moment!  :D
I have purchased 3 watercolour tutorials: dragonfly, white rhino and swallows.
After receiving my serial numbers, I went and unlocked them, but they don't appear under My Classes and when I go into Animals (Watercolour), they are available for purchase and not to Watch.  ???

What am I doing wrong or am I supposed to wait a certain time for them to become available after unlocking them?

Thank you in advance!  :painting:

Hello Cheryl.
The usual reason for this is that you weren't logged in when you bought them - it should open automatically. I think Nolan may be away at the moment so I'm afraid you will have to wait until he responds and opens the classes for you.

Hello! I just purchased two of the Pencil Drawing classes, one for my daughter and one for myself. I only received one serial number in the response from the site -- will that unlock the class for each of us? I tried entering the serial number in the 'Unlock a Class' page, but it didn't seem to work.
