Amazing Natalie and JennyLynn!! Your paintbrushes must have been set on speed paint!!! Wow, I couldn't keep up lol

Dennis thank you for the PDF. I will give it another go at my own speed :)

I hadn't received the PDF template for this lesson and was 'chasing my tail' from the beginning. I didn't realise that you posted it on the first post of this thread.

I have a favour to ask for future lessons. Could you post us the pictures as well as the templates, I am used to having reference for my paintings and struggle as the picture isn't always up on screen throughout the painting session.

Ok here is my paint along. The fourth one you will see he has red lipstick. I thought he needed to get a hold of his feminine side. He looked to much like a boxer.  :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

  Excellent paintings Nina ... your ears are particularly good.  I need to go back and re-paint mine.  I kind of got lost while painting a long which is not too difficult for me to do these days!!  Must be something to do with my eye-hand co-ordination.

Oh! Boy, Roxy is not going to let go of the "Lady" title   :2funny: :2funny:  but  :thankyou:  Roxy for thinking that it suits me.  Bless you.    :1hug:  I do try to be a lady (strict upbringing) ... however, sometimes, it doesn't always work especially when I get  :tickedoff: at the computer "buffering" when we are in the middle of an important painting lesson and then you wouldn't think I was a lady if you heard me   :cursing:    :censored: .

Nice noses and ears everyone. Carol I think once we get to full portrait I am going to like the soft indistinct character of your features. It just might really suit the nature of watercolor.

"Who Dares Wins."
Just look at those who had the courage and dared to paint along - see how they are on the winning side right now    I can't believe that when I jumped onto my motorized skateboard that I would have so many (running)  :painting: behind me at the same speed and still keep quality- truly amazing :yippee: :yippee: I cannot be any prouder :congrats:

Just a few small remarks and taking into account of the speed and time factor:
Jenny the ears are well done - just be a bit more careful on the bulbs of the noses.
Carol, you lost the detail in the centre of the top ear - the bottom one OK.
I'm happy with all the others not commented on.

:thankyou:  Dennis for being proud of us but then, you are a fantastic teacher for imparting your knowledge in a way which we can understand and employ, for instilling the positivity in us, nurturing and encouraging us as we learn and for your continued support in our endeavours as we go along.  I take my hat off to both you and Nolan for being such a wonderful teaching team and we only have the two of you to thank for our progress.  We are truly blessed.  Patricia

I've been missing you all.  Miss watercolor, missed the class today.

Let that be a lesson to everyone, you can't be two people at once.   ;D

Sharon, very nicely done.    In the top left nose be careful to get the nose lobes nearly equal. At the moment they are quite different in size.
Title: Re: LESSON #50 - Noses and Ears
Post by: Happychappy on October 23, 2013, 03:53:09 AM
Wow, Sharon, isn't it fantastic to have a trained eye to see that the nose lobes were not equal?  I didn't even see that until I read Dennis' post pointing it out and he has told us to be observant, analyse and really look at what we are painting.   Seems I haven't learned that lesson.  Patricia

Hello Friends,

Heres my version of ears and noses. My first face was rusty. I am happy with my first ear. Had electricity loadshedding in the middle of the second ear so was on autopilot and then the second face was loose and free like Dennis advised. Personally i like the loose and free face the most. Keen to do the mouths lesson as mouths tend to be the most difficult for me.

Thanks Dennis and Nolan...

 Just thought I'd add your photo  ;)
Cheers, Val

Trev,

Like all your work, it shows the fine art skills that you possess.  Taking these classes has really been refining them.

That loose face is really, really good and so is the top right ear - such depth and dimension.
