Title: Grandson
Post by: Win on August 08, 2017, 02:29:46 PM
I am sketching my Grandson at various stages of him as he develops through his first year in an A5 sketchbook.

This is the first of him a few hours old  :)

Do you think I should  "go more dark" ?

Does anyone know if you  can successfully use fixative on Graphite ?

Thanks  :)

What a beautiful baby Win!  Yes! You can use workable fixative on graphite.  I use Krylon Matte workable fixative on all my drawings.

   Great Idea. No problem spraying with fixative. Just don't over-spray.

Missed this Win, great idea to capture your grandson as a drawing. That'll be a very treasured sketch book, surely. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Liz, thanks for the information about the fixative.
At present I am in a "drawing phase", too. To me, your drawing looks great the way it is!

Lovely drawing, and a great idea too. What a treasure for the future! I have a baby I should be drawing too, now you have given me the idea. Her parents would love an album like this one if I can manage it.   I suspect you might get a few more imitators too.
