Title: Large colour Buster
Post by: Alan Dixon on November 30, 2011, 12:03:08 PM
When I downloaded the colour Buster I got four parts. One of them is  identified as a large Colour Buster. It appears to me that it is just a large version of the colour Buster but there is no slider shown. It this just  for easier use and you have to make your own slider or have I missed something.

Hi Dixon, that is correct, I had requests for a larger version of the Color Buster (right hand side), but at that size, the slider will not fit onto a printed page anymore.  :-\ So you need to construct your own manually using a larger sheet of card

OK! I got it and after several viewings of the video, I feel ready to test out my ability to use the Buster.
I also received another version of the Buster. I can pretty much figure out how to use the "Rough Match" spectrum but I am at a loss as to the %white graduation. Probably if I knew more about colour it would make sense, but unfortunately I don't have a clue. What, where and when would you use this chart?

I have a demo video that I created for the Grey Buster. I will be uploading that within the next week. That will explain exactly how the Grey Buster works O0

PS - :bigwelcome: to the forum, tell us a bit more about what you like to paint  :)

Nolan,

Where do I get this color buster and grey buster???

When I first signed on to Paintbasket, I had health issues to deal with and had to put painting on the back burner of my life for a while.

I remember you were offering the color buster for us to purchase but I didn't take advantage of it.  Later, I looked for it in the Art Store here but didn't see it.  It sounds like it might be a helpful tool.

 :thankyou:

 Lillian

Barbara, you will have to post it into your gallery. Then copy the BBC code and paste it into a post. Do you have a gallery yet? If not, let us know and someone will walk you through it.

Nolan,

When is the Grey Buster used instead of the Color Buster?

Thanks,

Wayne

I believe you use it when the colour you need to mix is very white oriented as it gives a much finer and more precise breakdown of the varying lighter shades. This forum topic shows how to use it...

Hope that gets you started and I'm sure Nolan can clear up if I am off track.

Batman.

Batman,

Thanks for the link and comments.  I believe you're correct regarding the fine level of control.

I'm also interested in whether there is a larger version of the Grey Buster, similar to the large version of the Color Buster.  My eyes are not what they used to be!
