Title: November 2016 Live Class - Pen and Ink Wash
Post by: dennis on November 09, 2016, 04:59:13 PM
The next Live Class (Check the clock on onlineartlessons.com) will be all about Pen and Ink Line and Wash sketching.
NOTE: Live Classes are for VIP Members only.

I will be talking about the necessary equipment, including the dip pen, as well as some basic techniques.
I will also do a short demo(s) using both types of pens.

If you want to follow along, you will need some watercolour paper and a 0.3 or 0.5 Black waterproof pen, as well as a few basic watercolours. Don't panic if you don't have a dip pen. I will be drawing on an A4 watercolour pad (140lb). Don't forget the brushes.

If you have any special questions please let me know before the time so I can prepare answers for you.

Dennis, I would love to take part in a live class, but I have to check to the european time. Could you please provide the date and time of the class in Australia so that I could translate this to german time?
Thank you.

Dennis, I will try to watch, our internet connection is so super slow. But if not, then I will be on a lookout for the replay.

Never used a dip pen, don't own one. Would love to learn more...

I have seen W&N also got some ink, is that the same as indian ink? (Know nothing of this)
Then I also saw some other brush pens, if you could perhaps just give an overview of those.
I do have one of those water brushes (Not really sure what it is called, the one with the tube you fill and the brush on top) have had some ups and downs with it. Perhaps an explanation on the correct way to use it?
I saw in another video a guy use a pen that is not permanent (not sure what it is really called) he goes in after his drawing and use the ink from the drawing to add tones etc.

I just  :smitten: pen and ink  ;)

I posted a question on the OAL site.  Hope that's the correct place.  I just noticed this Forum.

This was just to bring to the attention of the Live Class.

Just one more question Dennis: I am aiming to sit in front of my PC to attend the live pen and ink  class at 8:00 PM German time tomorrow.
Do I just log in the OAL site and wait for the class to start?
Thanks for an answer. :flowers:

Hi Gita, just log in on OAL and click on 'Live lessons'. Once the countdown timer has reached zero it will take you to the class automatically.  O0

WOW  Just seen I gave the wrong time. It should be 9am and not 8am NZ Time.  [ONE HOUR later]

Log into OAL and click on the CLASSES in the menu bar at the top of the page. A drop-down will show LIVE. Click on that and then wait for the class to begin. There is a timer.

To the left of the LIVE you can go to all the replays.

Your onion make me 😢 because it looks so real.  No because they are bad  :2funny:

I cannot wait to see the replay.  I wonder if Dennis answered my question about ink fluidity, before I join in.  I was terribly late.

Yes, I did, Annie. Never seen that before. I suggest you slowly add distilled water and stir properly until you have the right consistency you want.
