Very very nice Karen!

The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

You did an excellent job with the positioning of the 3 people. Really tells a story of a discussion of the sermon after the service.

Thank you Dennis.
I am posting this because the mat cutting class might be interested.
I was not very happy with the cream/white mat - it seemed too cold - so I went back and the framers redid the mat. They were very good and only charged me $20 extra. My camera is not quite picking up the colours in the first framed pic or in this one. There is a deep inside mat in a denim blue which lifts the painting almost two mat thicknesses, then the outer mat is a grey/mauve colour - like some cloud colour and the frame is blue and a kind of distressed blue/silver.
Dennis, I was surprised to find the framers had glued all the layers together
My buyer seemed to be happy with the result - though I thought afterwards it would have been useful to know the decor of the room it was going into.

Karen, the mat and the frame really complement your lovely painting.
The person who purchased this should well be happy with it. I think it should fit in in any decor.
Hey girl! You usually paint along with Dennis. Today, I thought you'd be showing us a bunch of mats you cut during the class.
That was a very informative class.

Lillian, I can't cut a straight line - but I'm hoping the tools Dennis showed us will make me a magic cutter and I will make my fortune with mats.
