The art of art
« on: February 06, 2012, 05:59:46 AM »
Today I set some time aside exploring some art galleries etc online here in Durban. Who exhibit what etc.
I was really knocked out of my socks (not that I had any on) about the 'art'. It is truly amazing how taste and style differ from person to person. To be honest I was very dissapointed, allot of the pieces looked something that my 7 and 8 year old children would do.
Am I missing the art of art

Maryna,
I know what you are saying. There is an old saying it goes like this. [Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.] Some need to get glasses.   :2funny:
I see dogs, cats, monkeys paint their pictures. and people pay $1000.00's of dollars for them. Something is wrong with this picture. But that is art I guess.

I wholeheartedly agree with that!  O0
Not long ago there was a 4 yr. old in New York who would walk around a canvas laid on the floor and flick and throw paint at it. Her parents and obviously someone else was a marketing wizard....these were selling for 4 and 5 digit numbers....without the decimal points!  :faint:  Sorry, just can't come to grips with calling that art.  :D
Cheers, Val
