Actually it was a cafeine problem. If you look carefully, Nolan is half awake, needs a cup of cofee but Dennis is too busy to prepare it so......

I missed the last 20 odd minutes having had to go to work. I'll get to that part on the replay soon I guess...

the shadow could go one of three directions : towards us (cast by the sun), left (cast by the right hand lamp which is just out of view) or right (cast by the left hand lamp). If the forward shadow makes more sense to you then add yours in that direction. I chose not to so that I didn't have to worry about the shapes of the shadows on the ground

Thanks for helping me get to the replay Nolan. I enjoyed the session - i had watched part of the original lesson but i had a lot of buffering and a bit of sound screeching so i logged off.
I mostly use acrylics and will until i have used up my old ones. Since i joined Paintbasket I bought some slower drying acrylics. I find that I can mix Atelier and Golden open acrylics and also add my old fast drying Windsor and Newton acrylics and that will extend the drying time of all of them. I don't know what that will do to my paintings in 20 years time but they seem ok now. My paintings are fairly flat though so I will try some impasto type stuff.
Long ago a friend of mine built up and 'modeled' his abstracts with a Polyfilla and untreated sawdust mix then painted over the result with acrylic paint - he got his images very high off the canvas and they didn't fall off - he also added string and other materials at times and the whole lot hung together well.

I have finished my version of acrylic and oil workshop , found the acrylics a little hard to get used to but next time i will use medium in it, figures and lamp were done in oils and i will do around the light when the paint is dry i did find it a little more difficult to blend in acrylics but that will come with time ( i hope).I used arylamide yellow , perinone orange and crimson in the acrylic painting as they came in a set i bought sometime back and i did not want to buy new paints till i felt i would use them again , the Atelier paint is quite smooth as you mentioned Nolan but unless you also have medium it is harder to blend.

Even the lamp is tilting in their direction to get a better look. Actually I love this silhouettes and the choice of colours. Great work Helen!

great job Helen
What you would want to do as well is spray the canvas a bit more often so that the acylic paints don't dry on you before you have completed your blending. The nice thing is you can now immediately go and redo your blendings that you are not happy with
